ASTM International's new E2691 standard shows promise for helping to boost, significantly, productivity in the construction industry. The approach prescribed by the standard does have a track record of success. "This method is not a theoretical method; it has been in use for over 15 years in at least 300 companies, and they have all benefitted from it," a member of the subcommittee that developed the standard said for this edition of CPC/BIM. Also in this issue, John Jurewicz examines the practice of modeling buildings in the cloud, Tammy McCuen reviews software options for cost estimating in building information modeling (BIM), several experts provide plenty of advice for attendees of the BIM Roadmap webinar series, Gordon Aronson takes a look at 4-D scheduling, and don't forget Industry Updates. |
